Do you know anyone who works on Garrett engines and MU2 airframes in the Boston area? Even someone who works on twin commander would be fine too.

For me it was always worth traveling to a known brand name facility.
Aiken or Dickson or something like that.

Correct I’m using Aiken. But if I need a quick local fix or AOG…

I have a similar situation where I'm at, but I've found that nothing on the airplane is amazingly unusual or difficult, so I just find a local A&P I like or trust, and muddle through a fix. For example, my local guy and I just changed my fuel transfer pump which failed on the way into home base. I ordered the pump, we followed the procedure in the maint manual, and it was actually pretty darn easy. Hardest thing was dealing with the drained fuel (I was lucky, I had less than 5 gallons in that tank).

If you can, I would get a copy of the maintenance manual. Makes things legal and generally better. But you can probably muddle through by asking your service center to forward you a page or two if a particular procedure demands it when you're AOG or whatever.

You could probably give Tom Sapp in Aiken a call and he could help you work through your issue with a local mechanic. I find those folks are pretty helpful and the one time I gave Tom a call he had just the information I needed to solve my issue. They can often source and ship parts too.

Similar with Mark James at IJSC. Given a good detailed description of a problem he can often know what it is over the phone. Very good success rate for me. And of course IJSC has many parts in stock.

I would try to get in contact with the guys at Keller in MHT. They have 2 MU-2's that they have operated since the 80's. If they can't help you I am sure they can send you to someone that can.
