I’d have expected the OP to have made mention if the plane had U2As, so it’s reasonable to assume S1A5s with Machen Mod (lower compression cylinders with turbochargers (instead of turbo normalized)).

Intercoolers are in wing root.
One of the pictures shows the scoop on the right wing (inboard of the engine).

My understanding is that the in wing intercoolers are not as effective as the AAC under engine intercoolers and that you are not known ice with them.

Jim Christy is the one to ask whether they can be used to get the full 350 (or 340 w/long props) HP.

If you care. Biggest reason to want 700HP is that 700HP makes the plane eligible for the AAC Gross Weight Increase.

Props and adjusting the MP up an inch is all that’s required for 350hp.

This is an aircraft that has always been on my Bucket List, but my bucked is a little low on funds. Anyone in Manhattan or on Long Island interested in a partnership?

Better support on the AS, faster and built really sturdy. But the Duke has bigger cabin. They'll prob cost about the same to operate, my guess.

At some point this exchange ought to move over to the Aerostar string.

So we don’t distract from John’s goal of finding a good home for his Aerostar.
