They came from N484AF, which was on contract to the Air Force for target services, as far as I can tell. Total hours are 4,000 and 13,000 hours, total cycles 4000 and 17000, or were at last log entry. Air1st's ad said they're both 2200 hr SMOH and 275 hr since HSI which, barring bad management, should mean they're in good shape. Attachment: Engines.jpg

What's your target ITT?

looking at the second panel picture posted, the engines are not producing the same power by both the torque gages and the fuel flows. I don't see a turn and bank, but from what I see there would have to be a slight yaw into the engine producing more power. Uncoordinated flight will cost airspeed. I wonder what your results would have been if you balanced the engine output and made sure you were truly coordinated. FWIW, my F model would perform similarly to the picture of N18BF shows at mid cruise weights. At FL250 my IAS was 180kts at -24C on 56gph which results in 265KTAS. At FL240 on the return trip at -34C, IAS was 192 on 64gph giving a TAS of 272kts. These numbers were from a trip to Tennessee and back in November for my 100/200hr inspection. Just two people on board but departed with 366 gallons of fuel on board. The F model MU-2 is a wonderful aircraft!

There definitely is something with previous posters mentioning torque, ITT, and fuel flow between the two noisemakers. It would be interesting to see the rudder and ailerons in flight to see if there is any drag created keeping the bird centered.
MU2 drivers - The ball is not quite centered. Would that explain about 4 KIAS of the 36?

That would be equivalent to saying that a given Bonanza was slow because it had a high time case. What is apparent to me, and I have zero interest in the subject aircraft model issues, is that the kind of mental energy spent in this thread is entirely saved by accomplishing a flight check as a part of a buyer’s evaluation with someone who knows what they are doing. Period. Same with any airplane.

It usually cruises pitched up about 2.5 degrees according to the G600 and the other two independent AI’s. I bought mine from Mike Laver. He owned my 50AF before his current -ED. He’s a very honest guy. Based on his reputation, I bought mine without pre-buy and very little has gone wrong in 5.5 years. Thomas, What Honeywell engineers?
