Due to market demand for used audio panels across the board, we're putting our putting our popular PMA450B upgrade program on sale with a $100 discount promo code! Trade in your GMA340, PMA8000B, PMA8000BT, PMA450, or PMA450A today. Buy online using code "Beechtalk" here: https://avionicssource.com/product/ps-pma450b-upgrade/ Upgrade OverviewSince the PMA450B is a slide-in replacement for the GMA340, PMA8000B, PMA8000BT, and PMA450, Avionics Source makes trading-up as simple as 1-2-3: 1. Buy a PMA450B online. Purchase price reflects trade-in value at time of purchase, and covers shipping. 2. Slide your new PMA450B in to your existing tray and complete a minor logbook entry. (We always advise an A&P performs this service). 3. Mail us your trade-in using the provided prepaid UPS return label. With the proliferation of Bluetooth® enabled devices in the cockpit and the ways pilots are using them, it was time to take the next step in connectivity with the introduction of the PMA450B. More Bluetooth® capability than any other audio panel available today, When coupled with our innovative approach to audio control, this user friendly PMA450B gives more what the pilot wants from their audio panel, the central nervous system of their avionics suite. This 3rd generation PMA450 has two completely independent Bluetooth® modules, giving unprecedented connectivity capabilities. The PMA450B has the ability to work like no other panel available. Stream to a digital video camera, hear Foreflight® alerts, make a phone call to ATC for your IFR clearance, you might even listen to your favorite tunes once in a while. PMA450B also adds our flightmate®. This integrated audio alert system gives the pilot the ability to hear alerts related to aircraft conditions. NOTE, additional wiring is required to enable this capability when upgrading from either GARMIN GMA340 or PMA8000 series audio panels) . IntelliAudio® gives the pilot the capability to pay attention to the radio that is important to their flight at any one instant in time. Consider Com 1 coming from the 10 o’clock position while Com 2 is coming from the 2 o’clock position, just like being at a cocktail party, you are able to pay attention to the person who is telling you something important while ignoring the other conversations that aren’t. The 3 Soft-key user interface is unprecedented for audio control panels. With more and more capability provided by our audio panels, we found it necessary to make the access to these functions easier. If you can read English you’ll be able to get all of the capability from the PMA450B without ever having to open up the User’s Guide.

Will the PMA450B be a slide in replacement to a PMA8000SR? I would like to have Bluetooth capability, but don't want to have to do a bunch of wiring changes.
Thanks!

Thanks! Brant, Per PS Engineering: "It is NOT a slide in/slide out. Different tray and different back plate. No rewiring though, the two connectors are reused as is. The Coax for the satellite radio must be removed from the aircraft. The tray has to be removed, the two connectors removed from the back plate then the two connectors are installed on the new back plate and the new tray has to be installed"

Thanks! I did the PMA8000SR to PMA450B upgrade couple months ago and it was a relatively simple task as Chase explained.

I just want to make sure there isn’t a bunch of time involved. It appears that the Allen-head locking screw access is in the middle of the front panel so question answered.

Thanks,
Mike The PMA8000B has been great. I want something with Bluetooth so this is an attractive offer for me.
