The Jeff’s could consider splitting Brand X talk into Piston and Turbine categories to make it easier for pilots searching for information regarding one or the other to focus on threads they find most interesting. But I don’t have a dog in this fight. Whatever they want to do (or not do) is fine with me. If memory serves BT has always endeavored to be ‘welcoming’ and ‘tolerant’. Given the sheer number of Cessna/Piper/Socata/Pilatus/Piaggio/Commander etc. owners participating on BeechTalk it seems as though the BT community has succeeded in those efforts. I would NOT be in favor of making BT less welcoming, I see no reason to irritate the Kerosene burning crowd. If my Lotto winnings hadn’t been usurped by people in Maryland or Michigan I might have been joining them!

Instead of getting pissy at success, we should start a thread....How I afford my kerosene gulper.” Would be very interesting.
There has always been a class warfare battle. Most common to pit business people against academics. Let us avoid this on Beechtalk.
Our elected and unelected friends are using identity as a surrogate for class now. We should not add to this insanity by using airplane type to divide us.
I have owned by two planes for 11 years and 9 years. They are close to perfect for me. I still long for a twin. Someday.
I am also very happy I have the skills to get myself out of a jam.
That is priceless.

If they were genuinely jet elite, they wouldn’t be here. Could not agree more.

I read and contribute as much as I can if the thread is relevant and/or interesting. Get over it OP, there will always be someone with a bigger better deal. It doesn’t make them an A**hole.
Martti, I don’t know you but I’m sorry you even had to post that in response to the OP. I’m with you 100%.

Just remember that in the midst of the glitzy 7- or 8-figure price tag airplanes in Brand X Talk, there are also airplanes like mine. Both were crafted completely by hand. One was built in a farmer's basement during long winters. The other was built in a hangar that amounts to not much more than a tin shed that's freezing cold or sweating hot, built by a guy who averaged more than 60 hours a week at his regular job so he could afford to build an airplane after paying for the mortgage, kids tuition, etc etc.
Brand X Talk is about open, inclusive conversation. It's one of the finer features of this place, a feature that sets it apart from other similar aviation discussion forums on the web.
Long Live Brand X Talk!
(As a funny little aside, I have read Brand X Talk extensively, perhaps just because I always want to be learning. The real up-side was when I was able to put one of those little tidbits of knowledge learned here to work in helping an owner of a Brand X airplane that was AOG a long way from home. That owner was very thankful that I'm well read!)
