At $651,000.00 it's right in the ballpark.

Seems like a low price. Probably not with options like rudder or landing gear.

The wingspan would be hard to find a hangar for at 13 meters (42.65')

Interesting thing is how little fuel it can carry. 51 gallons. But yet has decent to good UL with 1232. Curious as to why they kept the tanks so small.

Agree, 20 more gallons would be better.
Maximum range was listed at 750 nautical miles (including a 30-minute reserve), 9-gph

Because it burns twelve and a half gallons per hour at 75% power at 170 knots. That’s 510 nautical with an hour reserve.

It’s a very impressive design. This and Cirrus, and airplanes like them are the future of personal aviation.

I got some time recently in a DA42-VI. Great airplane ... looks like the 50 has just the main tanks (50 gallons), which are similarly-sized in the twins. Can’t speak for the DA40, but both the 42 and 62 have small main tanks and the long-range aux tanks are an “option” that almost everyone in North America gets. In fact, I think the North American dealers order all of theirs with the long range aux tanks. In Europe, they aren’t ordered as often.

It may be that for certification. Diamond just certified a version with only the main tanks and not the aux tanks (which add about another 25 gallons combined, plus or minus). A 500-600 range is pretty short when compared to the competing aircraft at that price point. But it’s possible that long range tanks will be added/certified later.

Very impressive video, especially the automation and stall series. If it holds this price point, it should do very well.

I don't think the $651k price tag is accurate. I know someone who was quoted $900k+
however I don't know any details (options etc.).
