Does anyone have first hand knowledge on the Honda jet? The cost calculator website projects cost per mile is less than a P Baron. Any idea if this is fact or fantasy?

As is the case with most small turbines, that can be true for variable costs. The two common arguments against that reality are:

1) The high fixed costs (training incl type rating and recurrent, annuals incl high price of factory parts, calendar items incl gear overhauls).

2) The "sword of damocles" - non insurance events that can bankrupt you like engines kicking the bucket off-program.

I test flew one. I don’t see how it’s possible to be less than a p baron per mile as it cost more per mile than my mu2.

That said, cool plane and very easy to fly. If it had better range and cost a lot less I would buy one :-)
