Thanks Mark! Such a nice paintjob on that bird, too. Right up my alley! And cool hangar! Eternally envious.

My hangar is by the runup area so every piece of dirt kicked up by the props goes right into it! Almost no point in cleaning it anymore. I could probably eat off the floor in yours!

That is one cool looking airplane, PL21? Also the hangar is "best in show" from what I have seen.

Congrats!

Patrick.

Got kept low today on a leg and was running full tilt at fl280.

386 TAS at ISA +13. Seems like 395-400 definitely doable on a cooler day.

I think you have a particularly good performer. And maybe light weight? Good numbers, regardless

Mark,

I love your hangar!

My ‘65 Giulia Sprint GT is feeling a little left out and jealous tonight! I notice you have the current issue of Hagerty Magazine on your desk.

One of the most beautiful cars ever. I had a '72 GTV, loved driving that car.

BJC to CRE
1300nm
Burned less than mu2. Landed with 700lbs. Amazing machine.

Was burning about 480lbs/hr at this speed which is exactly what I burned in mu2 doing 290kts at fl280 on an ISA +day.

The second pic I brought the rpm and power up and wee burned off some fuel. 360 at fl390 is not bad.

Now, imagine it with TPE331's on - FBO'd be paying you for fuel! :peace:

I don’t think they would do as well turned backwards. Are there any examples of a TPE331 in a pusher config?

I really think you need a backward t prop like pt6 to make aerodynamics work. U would also need the big block tpe which is less efficient than the smaller ones from what I can tell.

It's in the Predator, but that's the only one I know of.

Did some family shuttling today. My 92 yo grandfather isn’t able to travel easily. I was about 70nm away from him so I offered to bring him and my aunt to lunch then fly them home.

Ground AC off the GPU made their experience quite enjoyable on a sweltering day. Amazing what these planes can do. Years ago I did a similar trip with the Malibu to pick them up. Not really that much longer but radically different in comfort. The 5’8” cabin is pretty awesome for people who are 5’6”!

Even on a 70 mile flight you blast up to 12k. It’s a phenomenal hand flying plane. Hyper stable and trims out perfectly.

I still prefer the Garett’s to the pt6 though for quick turns. You have to motor the engine for a while to cool the Pratt’s. I was able to easily do that by hand on the Garett’s.
