That’s what happens when people become more comfortable with each other than normal. :bud:

I’m scared to think about the SF50, let alone talk about it from this forum.

Can I think About it now? :D

Peace out and be kind.

Jeff’s, thank you for creating and maintaining this community.

I joined BT at a time when I had just sold my old 172 and wanted to find my next plane. I am amazed at how much I have learned from this website, at first my learning was solely focused on IO 550s, turbo normalized systems, 35 vs 33 models, rigging and countless other awesome topics. I found that the social norms were to direct you to the search function and do your research, the wisdom was already imparted and this was the library to research it, which was perfectly fine by me.

As a new user I started to understand and be amazed at the knowledge that was available here, it probably took me over an year to even consider reading anything under the category Babble Talk... there simply was too much to learn about airplanes especially about my “new to me” Debonair to really dab at reading Babble. BT helped me “spend my money” and I now have a little rocket ship Debonair with an extremely nice panel.

So then I ventured into Babble... and wow, not only was there airplane wisdom here, there was real life wisdom, and stories of amazing individuals that we were lucky to have as members sharing incredible life experiences. Reading about these experiences really made me appreciate this community even more. But real life is not as straightforward as maintaining, flying, upgrading and enjoying airplanes.

The jabs feel very different when we are discussing a life decision or posture than they do when we are discussing Bo vs Cirrus or LOP vs ROP. It is especially apparent when those postures are followed similarly by a subset of people with similar ideology... and that’s where the waters get murky. There is no possibility of ideology behind LOP, but the possibility of ideology rearing its ugly mug is likely in a friendly discussion about a trending news topic.

Not sure how to fix that... I’m guessing bringing back Brannigan is off the table

I support this move by Jeff and Jeff.

Three weeks ago I activated the Foe feature.

Two weeks ago I blocked the entire COVID-19 subforum.

Doing those things greatly increased my enjoyment of BT.

There are, unfortunately, a small handful of long-time BTers who troll, who bait, who demean, who seem to be here only to argue.

No matter how long they have been here, that behavior damages the experience for many of us.

BT is a unique place. It has changed my life with new experiences and new friends.

I applaud this active measure to protect it.

Jeff's... as a pilot, sponsor, fan and friend. I love BT. That said I really live in the Turbine section and tend to wander around from time to time. It is easy to see the same names come up time and time again and their relentless efforts to be 'right'. I figure they have way too much time and, for the most part, lack facts and make it into a political issue. That helps me understand and ignore their posts in other forums too. The COVID forum is some of the best entertainment that is out there. It has surely brought out the best and worst of people.

Bottom line... your site, your rules. Mine is; if I am not interested in it - I ignore it. 80% of BT are great folks asking and answering questions that everyone can learn from.

Can't do it on an i device, but on a PC or Mac, hover over likes, or it's darker cousin, with the mouse.

With respect to that goal, we are sorry to report that we have failed. Jeff and I take full responsibility for that, and we offer our apologies to the community for our failure.

I'm fairly new to this forum and Beechcraft but don't see that you failed. Not assessing and trying to fix issues as they arise would be a failure. Like a lot of forums there are more self-proclaimed experts and not as many humble teachers as we would like. But for me this is a very enlightening and useful sight and I appreciate it immensely. Thanks.
