I agree with Jesse.

I always tell potential buyers that airplane ownership is 50% about the airplane and 50% service and support. I don't care how great the airplane is, if it's a full time job for the owner to keep it running you will be miserable. A la Piaggio.

Cool pics Sam. Yes I love that landing gear. It looks similar to the Piaggio. I wonder if it'll be $500K to overhaul?

Always loved these. Late Ed Swearingen designed it and you can tell his beautiful lines are in it. The tail looks like the SX300, another one of his designs.

2500nm. It would be the first SP jet that could actually do LA-NY without a stop. It's bizarre that that's taken this long to achieve.

I wish it the best of success, but it will be uphill. Wish I was rich enough to be able to support. Maybe if you buy enough of my wine, I will be? :peace: :D

I’m in Naples. Give me a holler the next time you’re down.

My wife and I saw the SJ30 on Friday. I agree, it has a unique look. Easy to mistake it for a Dassault Falcon 10. Looks fast. Weird tiny main landing gear wheels and tires.

Yes, Naples is a great airport. Very professionally run.

Crap! Forgot all about that being your home base. Next time. Naples Air was packed and professionally moving everyone. Tower was on it’s A game. Felt funny being about 30 minutes from a good lunch in KEYW.

Why more range than a CJ4 with less fuel? It as to be faster I guess.
These are really small wings from what I can see.
Who as all the specs?

According to the guy I spoke with because it’s higher and faster. 49K service ceiling, 32 degree sweep vs 12 degree.

Like the Beech Starship, it was ahead of the times when it was developed over 3 decades ago. They have improved the aircraft and it has some capabilities that the Phenom 300 and Latitude lack and a potentially better price point. However, for stability, Cessna, Embrarer, and Gulfstream are hard to beat. It would be interesting to see one of those nifty computer generated comparison sheets showing the CJ4 or Latitude, the G150, the Phenom 300, and the SJ-30i.

We had plenty of hard working West Virginians that were more than happy to build this aircraft 2 decades ago. By then it had already been through the hands of Gulfstream, Jafee Group, and Lockheed brokered a deal to have it built in Martinsburg. However, they would only build a few airframes before the company would run into trouble again and be sold again.

Hopefully they will take off this time but it is hard to beat the marketing machines of Cessna, Gulfstream, and Embrarer.

I think Gulfstream should buy this company. It would round out their product line from owner/flown, super midsize, to Ultra long range. Gulfstream would make some updates and refine it making it even better and along with their outstanding global support it seems like it would be a good compliment to them portfolio. They could probably get it for an attractive price considering their financial turmoil overr the years.

Probably would be a good fit. But out the window would go the affordability of it.

I was crawling around a G550 at a maintenance facility about 2 years ago with a mechanic, and he went "guess how much the brakes are?", "guess how much a static wick is?", "guess how much an aileron is?" etc until I was in utter shock. Everything on these are priced like Rolls-Royces. Think the brakes were $250K alone, if I recall correctly.

The damn thing is still sexy as hell. Fast as the greased lightning. 2500nm range.

As much as I love the Commanders and the P180's, if I had $8.2mill, I'd be signing up for this thing in a heart beat. I hope they make it back. Looks like they're on schedule, but the have been saying that for 5 years...

Video mentioned the new x engines would increase range to 2600-2700 miles!

Parent company has been in aircraft manufacturing business for years, sounds like they are in this for the long term. I hope they make it it, looks like a great airplane.

Morgan Freeman was one of the first (maybe THE first) to own one of these. Took too long to develop and the cabin size is a deal breaker for too many prospects.

From the video it looks to be about the same size as a 20 series Lear, which is to say "small". The little Lears were plenty comfortable in the back, but I don't know how this cabin size/price compares to other jets already on the market.

Yeah, the cabin size and lack of potty will be an issue for the corporate world. But as an owner-flown rocket it might find some buyers. But will that be enough?

While that range is awesome, is there a bathroom in there? Almost 6 hours is a long time in the tube without Relief for the pax. I did many flights of that duration in the Mu2 and the Malibu, but those also didn’t cost 8mm!

Still think Textron should just bring back the Premier with more fuel and the latest engines plus a Garmin panel. That would be the ultimate single pilot aircraft. Big cabin, fast and real range.

At that price and considering the competition, no potty = no sale. That’s almost unimaginable for me in an airplane of this type.
