Aircraft: Bonanza A36
Hi Gents,
Iv'e just joined in after owning my 1978 A36 SN E-1243 for a year or so now.
This is the second aircraft I have owned, the first being a skydive C182L.
VH-IDE will be my last one as it is hard to improve on perfection lol. I am very lucky to work as an AME so get to do some great work on it. (Her?) I did 40 odd hours for the first year and apart from an astronomical hourly rate for those 40 there is not a cooler aircraft to own or fly. I love taking family and friends flying or just going solo. I look forward to some great reading here as there is so much to learn.
I'll leave it at that but add "Thanks for having me"

Cheers.

Nice machine.

That must have some range, which you need in WA, or most of Oz for that matter.

WOT/2500 and about 47 LPH (assuming around 7500-9500') and you will really go places (at about 160KTAS). (520v 550 depending)

And those lighter A36's can take a great payload too.

Welcome!

Hi David and thanks.
Yes I run it a bit richer than that (520) but it does have some range with those tanks.
Better range than my bladder !

Cheers

I hope it is a lot richer than that.

Most people running their engines ROP do not run anywhere near rich enough. Like 70 LPH as an example Vs 47.

Anyway.....this is my area of expertise, if you wish to take advantage of it.

Im still coming to terms with my EDM800 so am running at 65% 58 to 60 Lph.
I get to fly low due to winds 2500 to 7500. This is one aspect of my flying the plane I really want to learn more about.
