The tail number on that Cherokee getting the prop repitched is wrong. It should be N45... and not N43...

That was over a year and a half ago, and only for the CT location of Sensenich. I'm making plans to send my McCauley 406 in for a reseal/blade painting. Any reason i should stay away from Sensenich in PA? They are relatively close to me (i'm in NJ).

I've no experience with the PA location but I do have some with the GA location.

I wanted to repaint my MT prop a few years ago. The shop manager quoted me an acceptable price and I agreed. The down time was "three to five business days". They sent a truck to pick up my prop. It was a pickup with a motorcycle tire in the bed for the prop to ride on. Every blade tip was in contact with the side of the bed, with a piece of cardboard (ripped from a case of oil) to protect it. To this day, I regret letting the truck leave with my prop.

Twenty two days later, I went to pick up my prop because it was finally ready. Notice the disparity in time? I had built a carrier for the back of my pickup as I didn't want the same delivery service for the return trip.

The prop looked good.

A few months later, my wife flew through a very light rain shower on final approach. Upon landing, most of the paint was missing from the outboard half of each blade.

I called the shop and they quickly offered to repaint, on their dime, again quoting three to five days. I took the prop to them. Three weeks later, they said it was ready. I drove two hours to get there and was told the prop isn't quite ready. Are you kidding?

They did deliver it a week later on a proper prop transporter.

On our way to Sun-n-Fun, again in a rain shower that lasted less than a minute, the paint was removed. They happened to have a booth at Sun-n-Fun, so I stopped by. Of course, they offered a third repaint. I declined.

Choose this shop if you wish but beware.

Mine was IRAN’d at the Georgia location a couple years ago. Zero issues and have been thru rain. Gann aviation (engine builder) out of Lafayette Ga. uses them all the time. That is who sent mine over. I’ve been happy so far.

I agree! I tell people not to send their props for overhaul at the end of the month... the shop might need some extra $$ to pay rent.
