1/4” brackets weren’t heavy enough so now he is adding 1/2” steel rods with steel spacers. Someone should suggest tungsten as a heavier alternative.

Is this real? I keep seeing these steel brackets comments. Maybe a silly question, but why is this not done in aluminum?

Yep, the fuselage was flexing so bad where he had the pulleys, he decided to add 1/4” plates to stiffen the areas.

"Rebar Raptor" rolls off the tongue pretty easily.

This thread is nowhere near as entertaining as it was when Chris Close was trolling.

You could almost say it is a polar opposite.

You just had to thrust that pun into the conversation, didn't you?

He never actually backed up his "talk" with numbers. Just spewed how everyone else was wrong.

He googled well and was able to post formulas he found, but he didn’t seem to understand them or know how to apply them to get meaningful answers.

That was really weird. He signed up on BT, apparently using his real name, with a doctored photo, claiming a PC-12 that his company leases, apparently not having a pilot’s license, strictly to post blather about the Raptor and insult anyone who doubted. Once exposed, he vanished but his profile remains.

I’ve asked it before: what could possibly motivate that?
