The FBO never touches my creation - as well as fueling her myself, I pull her out of the hangar and put her back myself. Our tribe doesn't depend on some $10 line boy (or girl) to take care of our airplanes. We get down on our backs before every flight and look up in the wheel wells with a flashlight and look for anything amiss, drain the sumps, and check the integrity of the gear doors. We check our own tire pressures and clean our own windows. I guess this is why I kinda' feel like an outsider on BT.

Maybe I'm just sensitive because so many corporations have gone "woke" these days, to their own detriment. Aside: The techs at the FBO had the cowling off of a turbocharged Cirrus the other day, and I peeked inside. It was a beautiful sight but, man, things are really packed in there. I thought my Lancair was close-cowled, but the Cirrus had me beat.

Regards,
Bob That's one of the reasons I like it - classic colors!

I love my plane and do thorough pre flight but if I sat around waiting for the fuel truck to show up every time I stopped I’d be losing the advantage of flying myself. The FBO is there to service the airplane. That’s what I pay them for. Their job is to make my life easy.
In 14 years of airplane ownership I’ve never had an FBO break anything..... surprisingly. Ha.

I couldn’t take care of it the way it needed to be. The airplane isn’t nearly as labor intensive as the boat. I’m not washing the airplane after every flight and flushing the motors etc.
I love my stuff and care for everything I own to a fault. But I run he airplane like a forklift and not like a Ferrari. You really have no choice if you want the advantages it delivers.

If the app has multiple users and is connected all the time it would save so many trips to the airport, so much accounting, etc. Tesla unlocks the doors and sets the seat position, nav preferences and entertainment profiles based on an app. Cirrus could track fuel added/used, hobbs hours each partner/pilot uses, automatically set the G1000 profile parameters, track operating parameters to compare to partner agreements, alert pilots to schedule conflicts with routine maintenance needed, remind me I forgot to add fuel after landing, etc. I hope they are just getting started.

Yeah, I admit there is some value to that. But probably not what it costs. But the other stuff is dumb. And so is saying to someone you are ready to go because you checked an app.

“Dumb” ???
You forgot to say, “in my opinion.” (The airplane marketplace has certainly not viewed the Cirrus upgrades as dumb during the last 15 years.) Whether anyone thinks these options are dumb..... at least Cirrus is innovating constantly. What options come on a new $1MM Bonanza? A 2005 G1000 and wooden floor boards?
