Thx in advance! Rick Rick- The question is best answered by your brother's insurance broker/underwriter who will handle the insurance coverages on the policy. They and only they will be able to tell you who and what is approved for qualifying in the airplane. You can expect to be required to complete a formal PA46 course most likely - as most if not all underwriting companies will require that (even if you have 20,000 hrs and 10 moon landings ). Also I would check into the MMOPA organization as you can get a number of good training contacts via that ownership group. https://mmopa.com/

Call David Mcvinnie. He’s awesome. Very laid back and extremely knowledgeable. Opposite personality to Dick mentioned above.
Usually insurance required ground school and 15-25 hours dual instruction.

+1 for Joe Casey. He is also chair of the MMOPA safety committee and has been working with the other reputable PA46 trainers to develop standardized training materials and safety programs. He works with a couple other CFIs in the region who are also great. I have trained with both Joe and Deanna Wallace, and Hank Gibson down near Austin is also good. Have heard great things about Dick Rochfort and Dave McVinnie too.
I also second joining the MMOPA group or at least making sure the PA46 owner is a member. Great resources on that site and with that group.
