Any members have experience with reservoir tanks leaking fuel?

These are the tanks under the cabin.

Thanks!

On my 210 (not a p210 like yours) the reservoir tanks have quick drains just like my wing tanks. Those quick drains can leak for various reasons. Sometimes it is just a piece of debris preventing full closure. Sometime the quick drains have to be replaced. Don't know if your P210 is set up the same way.

These tanks have a tendency to get pinhole leaks.
You can have them welded.

I do have 2 of these from my spare P210.
We could check if they are the same p/n as yours.

Just send me a PM

Espen

It’s been a while since that hole has been cleaned. It looks, on one side, a repair gone wrong. Talk to Espen for sure.

Those look very much like the tanks of a P210 I saw getting a pre-buy yesterday at KFLY.

To my eye it looks like there were repairs at the fittings on both tanks and that is where the fuel leak is emanating in both cases.

Good Eye! I had Kirk at Pearce A/C Service do the pre-buy, he’s been awesome to work with.

Kirk is awesome. Dilligent, fairly priced, more than fair in his business practices and goes out of his way if you're stuck and need him. Can't say enough good things.

Just returned form P210 annual. Had both tanks welded. Was informed Cessna wants $1500/tank.

That picture looks like someone attempted a fiberglass repair to and aluminum header tank.

Just curious - what is the purpose of these tanks?

Based on the description in the service manual, it seems that a buffer/ballast tank is needed between the gravity fed portion of the fuel system and the pump fed portion.
