Hello,
I'm looking to move up from my Cirrus. If you have or know of an MU2 for sale or coming for sale, please send some info my way. My preference is -10 engines and upgraded/glass panel. Long or short body. I am open to anything if value is fair.
Feel free to PM if preferred.
Thanks,
Jonathan

SF50 is great, but a fair bit out of the budget... I'm probably more in the spectrum of a Tarver disposajet.
I've met with Reece in Smyrna and Mark James in Tulsa...
I have reviewed all the listings on Controller, trade-a-plane, mu2b.com, and air1st.com. Just seeing if there is anyone thinking of selling or if there are any other listings I haven't seen.

Do you have multi and turbine time? If not, you might check on what the insurance picture is going to look like before you buy.

A 501SP isn't off the table. My situation is as follows...
I'm 36 and got my license in 2002. I've flown an SR22 about 500 hours over the past 3 years. I am about half way through an IFR rating.
I have zero time in a turbine or ME.
My goals are multi-faceted. I want a more capable aircraft than the SR22. I need to start building turbine, twin, and IFR time to get where I want to be.
Sidenote: I landed at Hilton Head late at night back in June. While walking to the gate I came across an old citation that had a Klingon sticker by the door. I laughed and said to myself, I wonder if this is Dorn's jet. I got to thinking maybe someday this could be a direction to pursue. I started researching the feasibility of older 500 series jets and discovered it was his jet (was being key) and yes, it is feasible. Feasible if I can get the hours and ratings required.

I don’t think the MU-2 is a good step out of Cirrus due to a myriad of reasons but a Citation is big yet doable step

So with 0 multi and 0 turbine you should definitely start talking to a good broker. I don’t know for sure but With the insurance market the way it is now you may have difficulty getting coverage in the airplanes you are thinking of buying. There are a lot of brokers that comment here who would know better but I would probably be thinking of something more along the lines of a meridian than a MU-2 for your step up. And you will need to complete your IFR first. That should be priority number one.

I know of at least two pilots who went from single to MU2 without any twin or turbine time. It was years ago when the insurance market was not as tight. But, if you have the money and desire, you can hire a pilot to get you through the 100 hours.

You might also consider joining the MU-2 mailing list/forum at www.mu-2aopa.com (note, I am the forum admin). Lots of great info on their including some owners who are offering "off market" airplanes. The forum/list does welcome prospective buyers.
