Wing looks similar to a North American P51, but it's probably more related to an ME109 or a Pilatus.

I think we may have had one of those you put together based at TYS. A local guy had one to prepare him to fly P47 he was locally restoring. He forgot to put the gear down while doing T&Gs and bellied it in. It caught fire on the runway. He got out along with the instructor and the airport fire trucks put out the fire before much damage was done. I remember the water cannons did more damage than the fire. Anyway, he never finished the 47 and it was purchase and shipped to, I think, Planes of Fame for restoration and now it is based at Gatlinburg airport’s warbird museum.
Don’t know if the Pilatus was ever returned to flying condition.

IIRC Corky Fornoff came and got one that flew off, maybe to the SE US.
Other one went to Bob Pond. Was given back to POF. We had painted it in a quasi German WWII paint scheme. Unsure how much they flew it. Engine ended up going on the POF Mohawk, it's a Mohawk QEC used on the 3606.
