Any plane with a porti-potty in back. Mike

The G-V was comfy up front but I really preferred the back. Those were comfy seats, especially on the cold soaks.
I loved my TravelAir seats. We put in Oregon Aero foam when I had them recovered in leather. Oregon Aero made some really comfy seats. At one time they even made Kevlar helmet inserts and those were nice, too!

OK Ron, You've made us all feel inadequate. What do we do now? Jg

I felt the same way when I walked into the hangar (with the pilot, not the owner.) I'm not even allowed to say who the owner is. I can tell you, he is the owner of a privately held corporation that is larger than a lot of public companies and most all of us have bought his goods and paid for a bit of that jet. Like I said, it wasn't fair of me. But then, if I was fair all the time I wouldn't be me.

Lots of love here for the 421.
I agree with the roominess and layout - but I find myself often getting cooked in the front by the sun whilst the family is cold in the back.
Maybe the sun is brighter in Australia!

The best aircraft seat ever; Boeing 747. It's electric powered; moves from the cockpit wall toward the center console, then forward. Also up and down, with adjustable armrest that fold back out of the way for ingress - egress. Built in 5 point harness. If you want to prank the oncoming crew, just tighten the crotch strap all the way; it's good for a couple of minutes trying to adjust it.

I can sit in the center of the bench seat in a Piper Vagabond. Stick on each side of my legs and put my feet on each outboard pilot and copilot rudder pedal on long solo trips. Worked great but I’d switch back to normal position for landing.
The single lap belt like a carnival ride used to allow this.
I try to find airplanes where the rudder pedals are far enough apart you can stretch out your legs on long flight between the pedals in smooth air.
+1 vote for the 421. Having no console to climb over is a real plus also.
Queenair 65-B80 was nice to sit in also.
Little airplanes the later Scout and Citabria are pretty good.

Setting aside the utility and aerobatic aircraft, for traveling airplanes: Then "the most comfortable" goes to the airplanes whose seats I had redone with high quality foam.
Hands down all things considered, #1, Beech H18.
65 Queen Air.
The mechanics/design of the Twin Bone bench seat need attention but even with that, my Tbone had so much room you could shift around and get comfortable.
The new F33 I bought in '92 was comfortable, but I preferred the seating position of the '98 Skylane that followed. I can cross my legs easier in the Cessna and more side to side leg room.
In spite of re-padding the seat bottoms, I could never really get comfortable in either the Mooney Bravo or the Aerostar, both airplanes that I loved.
The most comfortable seat, padding and ergonomics, believe it or not, goes to the Psycho Billy Skywagon. I had them recovered and supplied the best foam money can buy. There is zero butt and back fatigue. Yea, go figure, and everyone who has ever sat in the seats agrees. The upholstery guy's name is Tim. He's now in Florida and I still have his number. He will get to do the 195 soon.
Jg
