I’m about to enter the pre-by inspection phase of an aircraft acquisition, a 1981 piper Saratoga. The interior is a bit dated but in pretty good shape. There are a few things I am budgeting for, one of which is an interior refurbishment. Has anybody ever used this entity before? . I’ll provide the link below. They have do you have a Facebook page and appear to be a very hot quality interior shop. I redid the interior of a Cherokee six I had. Pulled the seats and had an automotive shop reupholster the seats while I bought a carpet kit and then refinished the plastic and panels myself with SEM paint. It’s really an easy DIY project if you have someone do the seats for you.
I’m not sure what part of the country you are in, but there are a few places near where I am located that do great work inexpensively.

Whatever you do, make sure that you do the interior last if you have other things that you want to upgrade/change/repair.
Work on the aircraft is hard on interiors... I would do everything else first, and then, once happy with the airplane, finish with the interior.

The a/c is currently based in Billings Montana. It’s an ‘81 retrac Saratoga, nonturbo. BTW, i’ve been reading the adventures of your Saratoga. Respect fully sir, You are an inspiration. And I think I speak for many here following on this forum.

Oh, BTW, some here asked where I will be based. I live in Sharpsburg Georgia. I am going to try to base the aircraft in either of the Lagrange or Newnan. There’s no hangar space at Falcon field in PTC (plus their hanger fee(s) are pretty steep). I am looking forward to joining the community. Thanks for the advice.

On a small single engine this may never come up. Don’t try this on a larger business aircraft. Why worry? Ask your insurance company...

I didn't read anywhere in his post that he said, or even implied that the materials he used met or didn't meet the more newer FAR certification requirements.
I've used "generic" upholstery shops many times for my and customer airplane and met the newer requirements...
