Cirrus all along said they're making a personal jet, versus the other VLJs being small corporate jets. Where the guy paying the bills is expected to sit, that's where they put their efforts. Another aspect is parts priced for personal checkbooks vs. corporate AmEx cards; a Premier owner on another thread reported that a flat tire resulted in buying a replacement wheel that cost $73,000, just for the wheel. !!! It will be interesting to see if the upkeep cost of the SF50 continues the paradigm shift away from the corporate jet model.

A wheel on a Pilatus doesn't cost $73K either.

Mike C. The correct word is "counter".... not "backpedal". I bet you $1000 that By December 31, 2019 Cirrus is not bankrupt.

Mike C. Well, obviously they're not going be at 500 this coming year as we're only at 60 or 80. Your bet is a bit unreasonable.

Username Protected wrote: Geeez guys. Don’t like go out on a limb or anything... I think bankruptcy in 2019 is far more lily than delivering 500 SF50's. Who knows what could happen with the economy. I don't think the SF50 will bankrupt Cirrus... just the opposite. But a good world wide economic bust would bankrupt all of them. Especially as fat as everything has been the last few years.
