Wow, that’s just awful. Love or hate the SF50, why would ANYONE do THAT to a new airplane?

Awful, in what way? Back when Dodge Neon came in Nitro-Yellow Green, there was a national club for NYG Neons owners. I heard their parties were tops.

I had a lime green Karman Ghia once and for some reason the color looked good on that car (not just to me, many others commented positively). That said while SF-50 isn't IMO exactly a looker in the first place, the yellow-green hue sure makes it worse to me.

Green is the perfect color for any airplane… that you do not wish to sell.

Blackhawk just purchased a really nice King Air 300 for their -67 STC, we tried to buy it for two separate clients, cheap... it’s only sin? Green stripes!

These things are everywhere now - probably just wanted to be able to find it in the sea of SF50's.

Like a white pickup in Texas....

There's green and then there's green.

I like my plane to have zinc chromate primer. I do not want it to look like it's painted in primer.

I don't have a problem with green stripes or accents if done well. My dad OTOH didn't like it at all on anything, cars, planes, whatever

Impossible. It would run out of fuel right around North Carolina, and birds would crash into it from behind the entire way. Must be photoshopped.

Cirrus leaves Bombardier in the dust for small jet production numbers:

One of the comments at the bottom was priceless:

This article is a little misleading. That’s like saying Ferrari didn’t make as many deliveries as the Ford Pinto

Good article. I think it shows that newer, more efficient, high utility designs are where the demand is.

I heard a rumor today that Cirrus is planning some changes for the SF50, possibly in March. Something about a bigger engine, RVSM, more insulation. The source is actively negotiating to buy one and close with the local Cirrus salesperson. Any confirming or refuting information available?

Obviously not Green Bay Packer fans. You just would've needed to toss a few gold accent (stripes/whatever) on there to sell it to a true Packer fan.

Just what it needs, a way to run out of fuel faster.

How is it that an SF-50 needs 1900 lbs thrust to fly like a dog at low altitudes and an Eclipse goes way faster, way higher, on 1800 lbs thrust?

Answer: inefficiencies caused by being a single engine jet. That decision ripples through the entire design killing performance.
