Can’t figure out how to link to it, but on the Diamond Aircraft Instagram they had a picture of a DA40 with a Diesel engine in the nose powered two electric Moro’s on pylons. It looked slick as snot. Apparently can run 30min on battery alone, rest on the diesel. Edit: here is a link to it: https://www.flyingmag.com/diamond-da40- ... type-flies

You might be right but who is going to drop that kind of coin for 650 miles? I sure wouldnt want to be first generation.

Electrically powered 9 pax, 600 miles plane would be a great deal for short hop commuters, like Cape Air or Mokulele. Heck, they could do well with 9 pax, 200 miles plane if it can be topped off via supercharger in 1/2 hr between the flights.

I could see that. The yaw would be pretty extreme as designed.

It would be easy to put two independent motors, powered by independent circuits into each wing pod, so you never have to worry about one quitting.

Powering one prop I guess? Doesn’t that double the battery?

It would not have any effect on the battery, it just means instead of one 300 hp motor in each wing you have two 150 hp motors.
