Shame :( I'm doing my ATP-CTP that week so I can't do that :( I fly DAL-AUS-DAL almost every day, would've been nice to do it in a jet too.

I always seem to get goofy departure clearances out of there. Wasatch 193 @ 89miles. Affirm. Easy in the Garmin. Gave up on FMS. We intercepted the radial south of TCH and shortly thereafter got a Direct FLG.DSERT2.

Wouldn't the FMS accept TCH193/89 as a waypoint?

Ok. It sometimes is helpful with ad-hoc holds. "hold north on the 355 radial of XYZ VOR 15 DME"
Collins I think takes TCH193/89, Honeywell Apex is TCH/193/89. I'm not sure what your FMS would take.

The CJ2 I fly has the Jettech STC and does have a fuel computer that works through the GTN 750’s. It works and I use it but if I were having to pay for it I’d probably pass on that option. I find the fuel gauges are so accurate that it becomes a simple math problem to do any fuel calculations, makes it hardly seem worth the extra $$ to have the computer.

We intercepted the radial south of TCH and shortly thereafter got a Direct FLG.DSERT2. It seems they always give a radial-fix coming out of OGD. Not sure why. When I'm westbound it's always TCH 296/50. I looked at the chart and there's a waypoint there, HOGUP. I asked the controller why they didn't use HOGUP, and he said he didn't know. He just reads what's printed on the clearance. One of these days I'll figure it out.
