Nice videos! I noticed in one that you are doing partial-power takeoffs. What's your reasoning on that?

Great! Glad you found that document. I was trying to find it to share with you once I got a feel for your reasoning.

We took a pair of Js all the way to TBO (1800 hrs) basically doing what the Lycoming link talks about. No internal engine issues during that time. Only 1 turbo if I recall correctly.
Our procedures were Full power, full rpm, full rich for takeoff. Climb at 39/2400 with TIT no leaner than 1500. Cruise 33/2200/1600 TIT. Always monitor CHT, tried to keep under 400. Descent nose over like Lycoming document. Then after cooling starts, reduce 1" of MP per minute or no more than 10 degrees CHT per minute.
YMMV, but worked great for us for 10 years.

Love the videos and the panel. I like that you are running 125 degrees ROP and staying rich enough to stay out of the danger zone. Just want to let you know that these engines run very well LOP with balanced fuel injectors like GAMI's. Just stay out of the red box (advancedpilot.com). I've already heard that the Navajo shouldn't be run LOP for reasons X, Y, or Z. I wasn't going to argue. It's not worth my time anymore. I run well ROP or at least 70 degress LOP. If you don't know much about LOP, check out advancedpilot.com. I believe all the data came from the Lyc TIO-540 that is on their test stand. Even if you still decide to run ROP, you will learn a ton about the way your engine works.
Here's what my plane does. At 10,000 feet I run my Navajo at 38", 2350 RPM, 16.8-17.0 gph, CHT's less than 380, TIT less than 1600, and TAS 185.
Just thought I'd let you know since you guys travel long distances and this can save fuel, your cylinders will be cleaner, and you won't sacrifice TAS.

Keep the videos coming! Thanks for the nice comment and the information. I assume you meant 28" @ 2350 rpm?! My motors do have GAMI injectors and LOP is something that may be an option in the future. I have a JPI 760 monitor and the biggest issue is CHT. At 65% power, say 10,000', I typically run 31", 2200rpm, 21.5-22gph, TIT around 1500, TAS 185, but CHTs on #6 are at 430* with cowl flaps closed. The engines have intercoolers installed. EGTs are nice and cool and within 50* of each other, but the CHTs vary quite a bit between cylinders (360-430*) with #6 the hottest followed by #3 and #4. The enginges are almost brand new from Mike Jones and Power by Blueprint with an impressive warrantee that I don't want to jeopardize. I am very happy with the product they provided thus far and am currently operating them according to both of thier suggestions and will proceed with their input.
