Looking to buy a fitted thermal cover for the 185. Kennon doesn't make them anymore, and Bruce's is expensive. Anyone have experience with Mac's (https://www.airplane-covers.com/cowlingblanket.htm)?

I know people use horse blankets, but that's not what I'm asking about. I still have the famous Teddy Grahams comforter for use in the hangar.

Wouldn’t mind something like that myself in case I have to park outside in the winter....

Darn it I'm sure their is a full frontal cover in the crate with your ski's...... You should not need to buy one. You mean one to go traveling with you, don't you?

Yes. Just something to keep it warm on the ramp while I eat lunch. I need to get down there and take care of the ski situation.

I have AeroCover Engine & wing covers .I find them very effect down at -20c
They fit excellence and have large clips which function with out having to remove your gloves. At the cold and windy temps you don't really want to be messing with fit and function. ( $650 cdn is only $500 usd )

( This is in Lake Placid NY last year.)

Yeasterday I ordered a new winter engine cover for my C182 from Arctic Covers in Winnipeg for $485 CDN. She said the engine covers for the C180/5 are the same price. These are great covers as I have them for my Musketeer and C172. As I no longer have the Musketeer I’m willing to sell that one....

Thanks, guys.

Apparently, Chuck has a cover in the crate containing the skis, which I haven’t managed to pick up yet. If that doesn’t work I’ll have to try one of these options. I’m pretty sure I can match Bruce for less money.

I haven’t actually seen them, so I’m not sure what they are. They’re hydraulic and some 35 years old is about all I can say for sure. I also know they require smaller tires, so that’s an added expense of mounting them this year. I might put them on if I can find someone who knows how and has the proper equipment.

Probably Fluyidine 3200 or 3600, check the plates on them.

Pretty tough to beat Bruce’s covers, I see the top cowl cover for a 185 is $325, worth it IMHO. Or a full cover for $450, but unless your leaving it out overnight in -20dgf, it’s probably not necessary.
I have a full cover for the Bo made when they were still Tanis, it’s a fantastic cover. I had to leave the plane in ND for a week when it was below zero and gale force winds, with just a EZ heat pad on the oil pan. The engine was still toasty warm when I came to pick it up a week later.
