Well, it's been in the works for several weeks now and today the deal was completed after an extensive annual / prebuy. I purchased a very nice 1968 Cessna 182M so that the wife and I can fly to places with the dogs and a future home somewhere in Arizona. This bird is 4105 TT and 167 SMOH on the engine and prop. It has a Sportsman STOL wing, new paint, new windows, brand new S-Tec autopilot and servo's with altitude hold and slaved to Nav 1 & 2. New interior and two point shoulder harnesses and 80 gallon fuel tanks. I'd like to thank the 182 P Ponk King, Tom Gresham, for his valuable input and advice during this buy process. It's been 17 years since I've bought an airplane and I was rusty. But I'm frigg'n excited! It's in my hangar and I'm looking forward to the adventures that are in store. I'll keep my RV-6A for the Sunday morning breakfast runs and the 182 fits in the hangar just fine next to it. Dave

Trim is your friend. Lots of nose up on short final.

Username Protected wrote: Are those shoulder harnesses the ones where the shoulder part is simply a loop on the end that the lap belt slides thru? That's what we have in our 182. Hate 'em. They are on the list to be replaced with the BAS. Not sure what you mean but these have metal buckles at the end and attach through the metal buckles on the lap belt. Dave

Congratulations Dave! Your 182 will do every thing a Bonanza will do, except go the same speed on less fuel.
Those fuel selector numbers got my attention; check the AD's and see if those numbers should be 75 , and 37.5,37.5.
On trim; be careful on a full flap go-arounds with full nose up trim; it will head for the moon if you let it, then stall.
Have fun!
