Since you mentioned the Lancair Legacy, don’t forget its counterpart, the Glasair III. Another zoomin’ plane! 215kts and fully aerobatic.

Wish I had kept it. That's the plane I was thinking about, but couldn't remember the name of. Looks sexy fast sitting still

The Super Legacy looks a lot of fun but flying behind a Super Stressed out motor (definitely more high strung than a stock TSIO-550) with a high wing loading is fairly high on the thrill/death spectrum IMO.
I'll throw out the L-39 in the mix. Pretty darn safe, fairly cheap and lots of fun. I don't think I could feed an L39, and honestly, it's not sexy enough- but I'll grant you, they do look fun. you still flying the IV? any knowledge of the turbine-powered Legacy? (I heard innovative composites is working on one with a PT6-20), but it requires substantial reworking of the carbon wing/tail.

Not sexy enough. Guess it’s your money but man this would get me excited!

The Epsilon is 200kts and Aerobatic. I don't know. The Zébulon is a great training platform, fun and easy to fly and do aerobatics with, but exciting...Meh. Maybe because we were all much more attracted by the alternative, the Tucano. Also, Cognac was a horrible place.

Extra 330LT. Acro like an LX, but substantially faster.

Nothing beats the roar of two GE F404 afterburning engines. You never get back the feeling of military aircraft and you always miss the smell of Jet-A/JP-4.
That little Lancair caught my eye and the price is less than what most of our wives have parked in the driveway. My beater has 129k miles on it and I argued to keep it for another 129k miles to buy that Lancair.
I would have bargained with SWMBO to put that (then $55k, now $50k) Lancair in my stable. ...until I found out IT WAS TOO FAST for Basic Med. Yes, that's right, that gorgeous little yellow beauty is too fast for Basic Med!
