SB retract is based on throttle position, not actual 85% N2. You just move throttle up an back to engage the micro-switch. The engine does not rev up much during that.

Last night
Leg 1 - FL360 - electrical burning smell. Searched cockpit for smoke, lights on, asked PAX if they could smell, found nothing, smell subsided, reviewed QRH for smoke and electrical fire procedures.
Leg 2 - FL360 - strong smell of rubbing alcohol. Looked for movement in passengers - nothing. FO did not smell. EFIS flicker, strong smell of rubbing alcohol, screen failure. FO smelled.
Got block 350-370. Pulled EFIS breaker and hand flew copilot side. Let FO handfly a bit while putting on harness and gettin portable SVT relocated. Transfered AP to copilot side, got us back on course and alt handflying, reengaged AP on #2, HDG mode only. No horizon or moon. All good. Tried resetting breaker once. Strong burn smell immediately. $$$. :)
20’ above touchdown, windows fogged (with Defog on), landed and rolled out with runway lights similar to snowstorm approach. 4am.

Jesse, what kind of EFIS failed on the left? Was it Sandal gear or Sperry? I thought all the original gear for those Citations was mechanical. How much of a help was the second pilot? None of my business but what are you doing flying around in the middle of the night?

How much of a help was the second pilot?
None of my business but what are you doing flying around in the middle of the night? :peace: Honeywell :) Flying back from an evening engagement in Ohio.

Unkown electrical burning smell that comes and disappears is likely a fan motor that burnt out then failed.
Rubbing alcohol smell is likely overheating electronics and capacitors that then failed in the EFIS.
