Robert - thanks for the kind comments! I agree - sometimes a deal just ‘feels’ right from the start, and this was one of them. Couldn’t have asked for a better person on the other side of the sale. Glad to have found a great home for 6RA - Enjoy!

Just FYI, I do a lot of acro, but almost all of my acro experience is in a T28.

Sorry, I missed that comment a few posts back.
I used to teach a basic 7 hour confidence course (earlier life), I always said the Citabria was a good learning tool, because you had to do everything correctly for it to work out.
It made you work for it. :D

Congratulations on your new plane Robert, and thanks to the wonderful folks here at BT that helped make your purchase and training.

Well, I confirmed she loops just fine. Still can't do a decent aileron roll however. Guess I need to learn how to do a proper slow roll...

All my info about rolling was from a 7GCAA with spades, enlarged rudder, and the longer sticks. I guess a 7GCBC is even crappier in the roll department with another foot of wing to roll and all the other inherent design issues.

I pulled this from wikipedia:

"Champion introduced the 7GCBC in 1965. It was substantially similar to the 7GCAA of the same year, with a Lycoming O-320-A2B engine of 150 horsepower (110 kW), wood-spar wings, and spring steel main gear legs. The major differences between these two models are that the 7GCBC has a wingspan of 34.5 feet (10.5 m), 1-foot (0.30 m) longer than the 7ECA and 7GCAA, and carries wing flaps."

Yeah, the 7GCBC is a compromise design, but that's exactly why I bought it - It's a great plane for grass/backcountry strips, and it's good enough for aerobatics. A Super Decathlon would have been a better acro machine, but noticeably worse for short grass / dirt strips.

If I have to work a little harder at rolls, and need to actually learn how to do a proper slow roll, then I'll treat that as a benefit!
