If you have a Mooney in the SouthEast and it’s time for that tank re-seal, Wet-Wingologist East at Fort Lauderdale Executive might be a good choice for you? !!!!!
After our Mooney came home from the shop and paint for two new mods, I took her up for a local flight to “shake out the cobwebs.” When cleaning the bugs off the leading edges I looked underneath the left wing and noticed a nice little “blue run” where fuel had seeped out. Then I noticed a similar “blue run” underneath the right wing as well. The stress factor hit me immediately, because we just put our money down on a rental for a week in the Bahamas. And it was only a five weeks away. I wondered to myself, if we were going to be able to get this fixed in a short time ... or is our vacation forfeit?
After considering a very helpful MSC (Mooney Service Center) who was willing to look at it immediately to see if patches were an option, I contacted Wet-Wingologists. He treated me like a repeat customer, returned my calls during the weekend ... and began work on the reseal the following Friday. After arriving, I only had and hour and a half to get to KFLL to catch my flight home. Edwardo stopped everything, we jumped in his car ... and he took me right over. Made the flight in good time.
Three weeks later, I picked up the plane, which now had newly sealed tanks and new drains.
Now, two weeks after picking up the plane, we are enjoying a relaxing respite on a nice beach ... although the weather in South Florida yesterday was anything but nice!
Thank you Wet-Wingologists! Great Customer Service! (Pictures are the flight to deliver our Mooney, at arrival and the Wet-Wingologist hanger.)

Good job!
Suspect the Mooney aviators and others with wet wings will appreciate your experience with Wet-Wingologist East at KFXE.

I will say that if you can bargain, you might be able to lower the cost. For example: if you use a credit card to pay ... the vendor loses approximately 5% of the payment. So paying in cash or a bank check will definitely be a negotiating plus. Our local mechanic has experience working in a MSC (Mooney Service Center) ... and let it be know that he did NOT want the job. It’s a tough job. The general wisdom is that these jobs should be done by a specialist ... or you may experience problems? I imagine one could have it done cheaper, but I’m not sure about what the long term results might be? Another plus for me was, (we have a nice plane with recent paint and interior) that the work was done with very minimal effect to the aesthetics of the wings and paint. I also like that the panels were installed with new stainless steel. I was also worried that our new CiES digital fuel sending units (installed a year ago) might be compromised, but he was very careful not to damage them. A very professional job. Attention to detail. Great customer service.

Thanks David, I've heard of some pretty high costs out here on the west coast.

Thanks for sharing. Not a Mooney owner yet It's so nice to see a shout out for good service, it is so easy to do but seems to be rarer in today's world.

Do they only work on Mooneys? Or other wet-wing planes too?

When I had my 252 I had the tanks resealed. Got quotes from wetwingologist and weepnomore. Both have good reputations and do a great job. I ended up going with weepnomore and the cost was $8,900 for both tanks. Both quotes were in that range but bear in mind that was in 2014 so I suppose it is higher today. If I recall I went with weepnomore because their warranty was a little longer but I can't recall for sure. I had the work done in the winter which in hindsight might have been a mistake to go to Minnesota instead of Florida.

My tanks were repaired here a few months before I bought my Mooney Ovation nearly three years ago. The left wing developed small leak a few months ago. A small bubble in the sealant had popped. Eddie offers a 7-year warranty, transferable to new owners. He got the leak fixed and treated me like a paying customer, but he charged nothing for the repairs. I highly recommend him.
