I need someone on the west coast that can do a prebuy on a Piper Cheyenne 400LS. Anyone know someone with knowledge of the airplane? Seller is in Northern California and would prefer to keep it somewhat local instead of Pennsylvania where I would prefer to have it done.

I know the plane and the owner. It is not for sale, but one of the best examples of the type. It is an incredible machine.

Left Western Nebraska and went non stop back to east coast at 39,000 ft. Setting aside Piper’s issues in the 90’s, Anybody who can afford a 400 can afford a jet. most people pick the jet

I see one at the FBO Circle Air in San Diego frequently. KSEE. Not sure if it is based there or they just do the inspections. Dee Conger is a BT member and owns the FBO http://www.circleag.com/

Len,
I sold a 400LS a few years ago, one of the good ones...it was maintained at Friend and lucky for me the pre-purchase was done there too. Lucky because your options are very few on that airframe, one of the downsides to what is a truly incredible machine overall. If you cannot throw enough incentive to the seller to get the airplane to Friend, which I would really try to do, I was told that Reno Flying Service has some experience with the type.
Best of luck!
Sandy

I had a 400LS a number of years ago and had most of the work done at Crown Air in San Diego at MYF....not sure if they are still working on them but worth a call.

I think all those Crown Air people are now at Circle Air at KSEE. Great group of mechanics led by our own Beechtalker Dee Conger (Circle Air Owner). TJ
