I am regularly amazed by three things 1) the realtive real world utility of the airplanes are very close (weight, speed, range) 2) . The real world trip cost delta between the G5 and an older (avidyne) meridian are often very small. . A lease pool with a modern Cirrus AND a Meridian??!? That sounds like a dream. How do I get on that program? I found precisely the same when running the #'s on the Meridian. One of the most appealing aspect of it (from a cost standpoint) is that I know I wouldn't be doing the 'trip math' on it. The cost per mile isn't too far off the Cirrus so once you've committed to the fixed costs, the trip costs are exceptionally reasonable. That same 'trip math' looks vastly different on the majority of other turbines I was considering.

Yes- and more, its the best deal going in aviation, great people, great planes, reasonable prices and top notch service. It is truly an incredible service! It is based out of KEDC, if any area BT'ers are interested PM me and I will send you contact info.
The proprietor is a BT'er and maybe he will weigh in?

Add in weather and significant winds and they diverge significantly. The advantage also grows as the flights get longer. Pressurized, turbine, in the flight levels is just different than a Cirrus SR. It just is. Mike C.

Mike C.
I've flown both and I certainly agree. FL270-280, pressurization, turbine smoothness, turbine speed are all just glorious.

You would think that, but in my limited experience, the meridian doesn’t really have the fuel or speed to grind into a head wind.- fuel stops start piling up quickly

I am sure the women have the ability to reason logically. Unfortunately, none of us have the ability to understand the logic they use.
