I got the rating April Fools last year, started flying the first jet in August as Initial Cadre LCA. Started service 30 Oct with expected teething pains but getting better every day. Every trip (for me) is an OE (training.) Just got back from Seoul yesterday passing 450 hours. I can report this is the sweetest flying transport airplane I’ve flown. Very light control feel, belying it’s 214’ wingspan, and sweet landing. Climbs right up to FL360 at max gross (608K#) cruises at M85 all day @ 12K/hr (737 burns 6K/hr @ M78 ~170K#) cabin altitude @ 5600’, and quiet as a library in the cockpit. With no prior AB experience, the A330 guys say Airbus “got it right” with this one. I’m having a blast... We’re serving Narita, Seoul, Beijing, Amsterdam, and this week Shanghai out of Detroit, and Seoul from ATL, with a couple more city pairs to go. Some challenges included connectivity to electronic flight plan packages (running FlySmart) and information management in general - we are paperless. The airframe has been basically rock solid with some new program teething pains. Attachment: 5BA94C06-D21C-488B-8D19-D923244B6DC5.png Attachment: 3A84BFD9-7EAF-4A02-8C9F-E75276A5057A.png

AG Yeah, I'm looking forward to the conversations 30 years down the line when somebody on Beechtalk asks if they should buy one with run-out engines for $200K

AG And no chute to boot. I'm guessing they figure at least one of those RR Trents will always decide to run.

Maybe I'll be able to hold FO on that beast in about 6-9 years?!! Attachment: F6ADCBD0-8D0D-4B32-ADD6-D0A81765587E.png It’s not the 777, but once I’m in the bunk it’s “sweet dreams.” Come on over Ben, I need another Coonass to keep me company - NOT in the bunk of course.... What is amazing to believe is that they can tuck that above the passengers and no one is the wiser until row 40!
