Count, Pointercount. Jane, you ignorant misguided slut. You do make an excellent point. There is a lot that is nice about the "cover charge" of flying. I just would have loved to have been able to afford to get into flying sooner in my career. I'm only 33 now, so I'm not that old, but I've been wanting to be where I am now years back. I do like the Matrix, I've always liked the Malibu series, although I can barely get into the cockpit. Those things really don't have all that much room.

I know what you mean Yves, I find the Malibu cockpit pretty tight for my 6' 1 " frame.
The Jetprop is sure fun to fly but very expensive to fly in Canada.
Will settle on a Baron 58 when I find the right one...

It has great composition--colored portions of the tail overlaying the lighter background of the hangar, the asphalt has been watered to reduce glare, the aircraft is properly framed, the lighting is great and from the proper angle, the owner has a decent pose, the background is only minimally distracting, etc. Nicely done. Jeff, That pic looks a lot like the delivery pic they make of every new Jetprop and owner on delivery - used to be a fairly complete set on the jetprop website - have not looked lately but the hangar/composition looks similar. I have read that some owners are very, very happy with their Matrix (Matrices?). Personally I have lusted for a Malibu since they first came out. I think that pressurization, turbocharging and factory A/C are the "holy grail" of single engine piston aircraft. Most if not all have de-ice boots so out of the box you've got one very capable aircraft. The Malibu had some issues early on and I am very curious to know if those that have been converted to TSIO-550's are doing any better. If I had money to burn I'd find a 550 powered Malibu and try it. But I'd keep my A36 as a backup. I am no fan of the big bore Lycomings. I am a great fan of TCM's 550 series engines although they still have their issues (lifters, anyone?). I understand the Malibu Jet Prop conversion is very popular and almost 300 have been done to date. As for the Matrix - I don't see it as having any advantages over a TAT TN Beech 36 series aircraft.

Here's what's appealing about the Matrix to the "layperson". Layperson=Someone who has never spent any time on BeechTalk It LOOKS "cabin class". Though I think the cockpit affords me less room than my Bonanza. I hate when people say they are scared to get into my Bo because it "LOOKS" like a little plane to the "layperson". I don't think these people would have the same reaction to the Matrix.
