Just a note of thanks to Neal Schwartz for helping me find the right plane to get me back in the game, to Sean Keehner for selling me a great B36TC, and to Kevin Crozier for delivering her to SLC with me from Kansas City yesterday after some terrific tactical weather dodging as he flew from Hagerstown MD to St. Louis Friday afternoon. Well done gentlemen! I am excited to start flying again after another couple of years off. After selling the P-Baron to Curtis Hassell, I didn't fly for 3 yrs. I started renting a nice B55 but stopped again after just getting comfortable after the layoff. The flight from KC to SLC yesterday with Kevin reminded me of the work I have ahead of me to get proficient and comfortable again after this most recent layoff, but it won't take long. I now have a great plane here, ready to fly for motivation! She'll be in SLC for about 3 weeks and I'll fly with fellow Beechtalker Tim Miller here for transition training and an IPC before dropping her off June 15th at Neal Avionics in San Diego for a G500 installation to complement the GTN 750/650, get rid of the wood panel overlay, and clean things up a bit. Though I am more than a little nervous that Garmin announces a certified evolution of the G3 touch or something I might want more than the G500. Hmm... I'll start flying her in earnest (as soon as Garrett finishes that panel work) for every-other-week missions flying SLC- Portland, OR, and for occasional trips to grandmas house in Palo Alto and San Diego. All of them are about 600 mile missions and the B36TC should be a great compromise of turbocharged ability to get high over mountains and desert bumps, and still handle a much shorter runway (Palo Alto and CL33- Pauma Valley) than the P-Baron ever could. And of course we'll pepper in plenty of short hops for fly fishing the Green River, mountain biking in Moab and around Southern/Central Utah, etc. Looking forward to stretching her capabilities. Still a bit nervous about going back to one fan instead of two, however... And since I am well versed in the BT protocols and know that ANY thread is worthless without pics, here are a few: Attachment: Panel wide.jpeg Attachment: DSC_1013.JPG Attachment: DSC_1014.JPG Attachment: img (6).jpeg Attachment: IMG_8408.JPG Attachment: IMG_1949.JPG Attachment: DSC_0987.JPG

Congrats John! You've got a good one! I love that long wing! It was my pleasure to deliver your aircraft from Hagerstown to Salt Lake City. I could have done without the 40kt headwinds across Missouri and Kansas, but it just meant I got to spend more time with a great airplane! Now go fly it! Kevin

Update- after a little over 2 mos in the shop, she has come out better than new! Can't wait to now finally settle in to a regular flying routine again. Mostly 600 mile runs between SLC and TTD (Portland, OR). Attachment: New_panel_1.JPG
