Took a friend to NBAA static display this past week to see the Phenom 300. He just purchased a fractional share through Netjets and he was excited to see and sit in one. He was very impressed to say the least. I'd like to buy him a desktop model of one for his office. Anyone know where to get one made?

We also checked out the new PC12NG, another awesome plane. He mentioned that he might consider one for his shorter trips.

Thanks for your suggestions

Dave

Man. First world problems.

There is a guy out of SE Asia doing custome planes from wood. I can't recall the name, but I remember the face and work. There was a thread not too long ago with one of his models on BT. I think it was a Mooney.

It's a helluva lot cheaper to just run the Phenom 300 for the shorter trips and the long trips.

Jason,
I agree and will counsel him if he mentions it again.

Thanks for your input.

Type in Phenom 300 to see some that they have done in the past.

Had one of my Mooney done by them a few years ago. Very happy with it. Some others had some issues with matching paint, but thought that was more due to they had some non-standard colors that were difficult to match exactly.

Cheers,
Brian

Premium Wood Designs is another option to take a look at.

True. That thing can climb, it is good on short legs.

+1 I have a Phenom 100 from them, matched colors, tail number etc.

Not when you have a one hour minimum for each leg plus .2 tacked on each end for taxi time. Fractional shares are the most expensive hours you'll ever pay for. That PC12 will pay for itself.

I missed the "fractional" part.... You're right.

In that case he should buy a Pilatus instead of a fractional Phenom 300. I guess we don't know how many hours a year he's flying.

Still a problem. No real fix.

.1 on each end. .2 total per leg. Not necessarily 1hr minimum. Don't pay for repositions like with charter. But true dat...Netjets is the most expensive. But fractional does have benefits. Airplane breaks? New one there within an hour. So no real down time. Say you are in Chicago. CEO needs to go to CA and owners wife wants to go to NY shopping same time. Who wins? You only have 1 share or own one plane. Netjets allows you to get 2 planes at same time with the share.
