What airplane can do 1500 miles west non stop? Plane will live on a 3500 foot grass strip and land at a 2800 foot paved runway. 2 people mostly. 50 foot hangar, 14ft max tail height.
Can an MU-2 do this?

An Mu2 won't do it. A Conquest II can go the distance but with the needed fuel it may need a longer runway. I'm not sure that any plane can go the distance with the needed fuel from a short runway.

Let's add a million dollar budget to this mission.

Can an MU-2 do this? A super charged twin bonanza can do all that, but you will have to slow down a bit.

Slipper tanks, but I think there is a speed penalty.

wherever you want it- behind instrument panel? been done, backseat? floorboard? under rear seat? aft tail? drop tanks?
it's all been done
bill harrelson is the finest example of this, his record flight in the IV was- 7051 NM 38 hrs 29 min - from Guam to Jacksonville, FL
See page below and scroll down, he's done hard tanks and bladders, but even with an extra 45-50gal under the rear seats and floorboard, the range gets drastic
