But I do like your new plane and I hope you enjoy it. Congratulations! Ken

Seriously, the Lancair beat the Eclipse to Oshkosh due to missing the fuel stop. Burned 65 gallons total, not per hour. I bought some LED lights for $208 and I vaguely remember my Eclipse LED was $5000 for one, no life extension either! Upgrade I think.

Username Protected wrote: no life extension either Hey, congratulations; I'm glad you found your niche. On the life extension, you may have missed the boat by parting out when you did. There are now approved ADS-B installations in the Avidyne Eclipse aircraft, and the newly-announced "Canada" Eclipse has no tip tanks at all, so how could anybody complain about the early Eclipse aircraft with smaller-than-normal tip tanks getting life extension? Username Protected wrote: So if one was looking to acquire a IV-P such as yours, what are the things that you would look for to assist in your acquisition? How do you separate the wheat from the chaff on the ones that are for sale? I'd start with the history of the builder and then look at the build log then check out the appearance, there are very few pretty homebuilts that are internally junk. I think there's a lot of junk out there too.

Big shout out to Chris and Andrew at Wilmington NC Aviation, my brakes were dragging and we replaced all 8 pads and bled them for not much over $200. My last Eclipse brake job estimate was around $10k.
We are home safe and other than the small brake issue, the plane performed exceptionally well. Over 3,000 miles travelled in 7 days. The plane burned 236 gallons on this trip, it's an efficient bird.
