TB line went out of production years ago - never had glass panels.

And DA40/SR20 just as good XC as a 182

You're half right, and I was wrong, the TB line is not produced anymore. BUT they had glass cockpit. G500, to be precise.

Not in production, but still available and very well supported by the factory and active owners group. Turbo normalized TIO540, built-in O2, 25K' ceiling, very roomy and comfortable, easy to maintain. Really a great plane and one of the best values out there.

Good looking plane. Looks sturdy. How fast do they cruise?

Was a clean sheet design and are very well made. High wing loading and remarkably stable. Similar quality, fit and finish to it's older sibling the TBM. Upper teens cruise 180+.
I love the plane, but will likely sell it when I purchase a Mirage.

They're dogs - check-out that fat wing .

The Lancair Columbia aka Ttx blows their doors off and that's with wheels down. Come to think of it, the Lancair blows the doors off every SEP on that list ...

But it is not selling well, will have to see if the recent price reductions and increased delta between the Matrix and Mirage change that.

I have always loved Mooney's but they are not selling, even with the nice upgrades. The Baron and Bo are great airplanes, they have had a nice facelift, but also not selling. Only thing that seems to be selling is the SR22, and having owned one for a few years, it is a nice plane, but I don't see how it really outshines the other aircraft 50:1 like it is selling. The market does speak though.

Just to put complete data in for discussion GAMA 2015 shipments as follows:
Cirrus SR22/22T, 270
Mooney Ovation/Acclaim, 11
Beechcraft Bonanza/Baron, 41
Piper Matrix, 2

Market sure seems to have spoken especially on the Matrix.

You said "New" so you have a price range between $400k to over $1m.

Single engine with a parachute will stop the cross country with any major engine issue and now you have to find a new plane.

If you have a major engine issue with a multi engine, feather, land nearest suitable, fix problem and continue the flight.

Nice clean panel. Gear control box is the same as on the TBM.

Is a Lancair/Columbia/TTX really any faster than a Bo or SR22, if flown at the same power settings and fuel flows? I question whether any differences would qualify as "blowing the doors off."

In other news, Corvettes (or Vipers, haha :D) also do not perform better than Prii at Prius fuel flows.

My Matrix was faster than my Cirrus above about 16,000 feet, that big wing liked to fly high. They both claim top speeds of 213, my Cirrus would do maybe 207 in the mid twenties, but was hard to keep cool especially on a hot day, fastest I saw in my Matrix was 219 KTAS running high cruise, but would easily do book 213 KTAS at normal cruise power.
