To my eye, Concorde is one of the most beautiful planes ever. In airlines, it's the Connie, and then it jumps to the Concorde. I don't see other airliners as "beautiful." Although I didn't get to ride in the Concorde, we lived near Dulles from 1979 to 1982 and got to see this beautiful plane in the air a number of times. Stunning. And, yes, it was LOUD. I loved it!

In 99 and 2000 I was working in the UK, and lived a few miles East of Reading. We were under the take off path of all the west-bound jets from Heathrow, but the only one we could regularly hear and would rush out to see was a Concorde. Beautiful, small and very, very, loud.
