This is correct. A bunch of one nacelle systems out there. Anytime you see 160 gallons it means one 20 nacelle tank and two 50 gallon tip/mains and two 20 gallon inboard tanks (aux).

I think this might be limited to the 310 I - Q. My 310R has 50 in the tips and 31.5 in each inboard aux for a total of 163gal. I do not have nacelle tanks.

Correct

Right hand on a cold one confession

-- well, OK, it's a celebration too!

So, I’ve been without a plane since Plane # 8, my beloved RV-6, was snatched up after just 11 days of being for sale a couple months back. Yes, my hands have been developing a withdrawal tremor. Flying is therapy for me and I've really missed it!

The search for the new one actually started back in September. While I have ultimately been successful in finding a plane that fits my basic requirements (see below), it has at times been an almost interminably frustrating and painful process….but that’s a subject for another thread.

I developed my own basic requirements for my next plane (# 9 for me since 1987):

1. Twin (I can’t afford the capital outlay for an SR22 G5, or even G3…)
2. Fast and sporty enough
3. Decent GPS (minimum GNS430W)
4. Decent autopilot
5. Engines not too old or too high-time
6. Flown somewhat regularly and maintained adequately the past 2 or 3 years
7. My price range

If a plane also had things like cosmetics that were OK, VG’s, shoulder harnesses, engine analyzers, and honest and cooperative owners…… any of these features would be a big plus.

I finally found one that satisfied my 7 basic necessities, and flew via Delta with my trusted Friend/A&P/IA/CFI/Consultant to Kansas to inspect it….. and then hopefully fly it home. It’s an old classic!

I got back home with it this afternoon.

I’ve already ordered BAS shoulder harnesses and may add VG’s soon. I’ll get my N-number on there in the next couple months. I’m not sure yet what I’m going to do with the 1 red 2 red 3 red 4 red 5 red 6 red velour seats… Did I mention that they are red!

Yeah, like usual, I start making any airplane I buy better as soon as it gets to my hangar.

And yeah, this will be my LAST airplane…..well, ONE of these will be!

Here is a peek at it, my new-to-me C310i, on our way home from cold Kansas:

Can you give me an idea of performance numbers? How does yours compare to a T310? These planes have sparked my interest. Seem to have great UL but not sure about performance numbers. Thanks and congrats on a beautiful new plane!!

Everyone should have a 310! I think our old one is in FL now...

Paul,

The TAS computation on the Garmin 530 says I get 184 KTAS at 7500 feet on 24 gph, and 178 KTAS at 11,500 on 22 gph. I'm hoping that the airspeed indicator is indeed accurate for this plane!

I have no T310 performance info, but I assume it would be faster up higher...

Arlen,

I see similar numbers on my 310. Your airspeed calculator is fine...

Enjoy your new plane.

Congrats Arlen, welcome to Twin Cessna ownership! They are great machines and are enjoying a renaissance in the current market.
You have made my day - I'm so happy that there is someone else out there who has the red velour interior! I was starting to feel like the last leper in the colony...

Plenty of great advice and fellowship over at the Twin Cessna Flyer, if you haven't signed up already. It's ok to have 2 online aviation forums in your life...

Congratulations Arlen!
Can't wait to see her in Knowxville! Maybe Max will let us park together: Big Red and little Red.
Must be quite a change from the RV.
I missed seeing videos and pictures of your early morning catharsis flights. Will you do that in your new twin?.

In my 20 months and 258 hours of RV-6 time I flew no other airplane. I didn't realize that I had grown accustomed to the unconscionably light touch and movement required on the stick for turns, climbs, or even rolls.

The first time I took off in the 310, it was like --> WOAH.....this thing is heavy! And then for landing, the yoke actually has to be pulled on a little bit!

I'll adjust.. :D

(Well, one of these will be the last one!)

Congrats !

Now you can fly at night, over thunderstorms and into mountains, or something like that.

So what's next ?
