nothing currently on the market or even on the design table currently will be able to touch it. And if they come out with an STC to retro fit older PC12's with the new engine, that will create a whole new market.

Light Jets cannot carry the load nor has remotely close the range a PC-12NG does. If someone has a short mission and two engines matter then it makes sense. Otherwise it just doesn't.

Wow - I missed all the fireworks on this thread!

I agree. I would also add that trying to imply the PC-12 is unimpressive is frankly ridiculous - but we've seen some fairly ridiculous arguments thrown around in the last year.

SP Jet vs PC12 depends on the mission - it goes a little beyond just wanting two engines. But as you said, there are not many SP jets that have the range and the payload of the PC12, and certainly none that have the economy.

now you have my attention! This would be potentially be a 280knot plane with 2,000NM range! GAME CHANGER!

I've done coast to coast many times non stop.

The PC-12 is not a truly reliable transcontinental aircraft. It doesn't have that much range even in zero wind.

Boys, Boys, Boys!

Those two statements are not contradictory. Even if they were, you've established each is using different definitions of coast-to-coast which would reconcile them.

Both the PC12 and the MU2 are remarkable airplanes. Each allows their owner/pilots so much time they can sink huge amounts into fruitless pissing matches.

I know I'd be interested in one of these engines if they come out. More speed and range for my Evo? I'll take that in a heartbeat.

Crandall, if I were you, I wouldn't mess with Ciholas. I just checked out his website, and it made no sense to me whatsoever!! It might as well have been written in Chinese!

As far as I can tell, Ciholas is some sort of evil genius with an army of robots. And they look like pretty mean robots as well.

Needless to say, even ONE robot is capable of kicking a human's ass, and probably mind control too!

Me? I believed you and your claims of the range of your PC-12 -until I saw the Evil Genius of Ciholas. And now I'm just scared.

And sad

Oh no.... I think I just peed myself.
jh

So Ciholas is Megamind?

You're a dangerous guy Ciholas. Your motives are suspect. I'm tired of getting calls from the FAA because someone is making anonymous phone calls and accusing me of wrongdoing. Nothing ever substantiated BTW. Be careful what you write here folks...... Ciholas is taking notes.

Wow! One of you is really, really out of line. I just don't know which one.

You're probably right there, Jon. Between the lines one can kind of read that it's a hotted version of the M601 engine, which was a PT6 knockoff, so the efficiency is probably on par with those. But if they can get the thermodynamic core heat up without weakening metals, then it could improve efficiency.

Spoken like a true Program Manager. Just turn the wick up....they'll buy it. :)

Great time killer here, since I don't and never will have a horse the light jet or TP world (but I still gotta go with the PC12).

But - Looking at MC's website, me thinks he should work with Honda to develop the automated pilot-less jets that Jason predicts will flood the market.
