Hello, I guess its about time I stopped lurking and introduced myself. My name is Babar Suleman, I live in Indianapolis. I bought my first Beech Baron (N1164W) on Aug 2, 2008, and decided I need to build a bunch of time in it as quickly as I can. So far, I have 38 hours this month in the Baron, and have traveled from Indy to Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Pittsburgh, PA and St Cloud, Minnesota. I wish I had bought a Baron sooner ! I will be looking for advice on how to quickly deplete my savings account while improving my mistress (that is what my wife calls my planes). I started flying in December of 2004, and got my private in March 2005 and Instrument Rating in January of 2006. My first plane was a Cessna 182 that I flew about 335 hours. Then I moved on to a Piper Lance, have 114 hours and one dead stick landing on I-70 in February this year, which I still have but have not flown ever since I bought the Baron. I will post pictures as soon as I have them. I have just recently mailed in the paperwork to the FAA to get it registered, I was having so much fun flying it that I forgot to do the paperwork ! I am a Civil Engineer by training, but being an undiagnosed ADD, I have been doing anything and everything under the sun. Currently, I am affiliated with the Nuclear industry. Have three kids, oldest is out of the house but he is not out of my pocket book, second one, she is a Junior in College and the youngest is 12 and is the best instrument pilot in the family as he is too short to look above the glareshield, so he is forced to fly instruments – which he does exceedingly well. Great looking site, I hope to participate more frequently..... ...Babar.

I have only been a member of this site for a week and I have already learned quite a few things about Barons. I guess the learning starts here..... ...Babar.

My wife and I at the ripe young age of just shy of 40 have both embarked on earning our PPL with plans to move on to instrument and beyond.
We plan on buying a plane as we progress in our flying and several friends are huge Beech fans.
This site has been a great learning resource as we have read anything and everything we can about aircraft ownership over the past several months.
We'll be posting some more specific questions going forward, but thanks to all of the board so far...

Jeff Zimmerle located in Nashville TN, based JWN (John C Tune) last 11 yrs, prior based BNA. Private 1996, instrument 1997, commercial 1999 multi-commericial 2000. 1400tt 700multi 225hr Baron E55, Started w/ 180hp Cessna 172, sold 2000 and is still on field at JWN. Bought 2X Oshkosh winning Piper Geronimo Apache in 2000, sold 2006 to pilot in Rejavik Iceland, he flew her across the pond. N3294P he has a website on the plane. It was very nice but certainly not a Baron. Bought 1974 E55 in Omaha from an attorney Mar 2006, It was well equipped, 430, factory O2, VG's, STEC 55X w/ autotrim and yaw damper, fully deiced, very good boots, LE almost at TBO but running good, RE 200 SFREM, all very running and synched very good, I had never flown a Baron until I bought this one, I flew it off of OMA with my 82 yr old ex AA capt airport bum friend with 38000 hrs, and I was in ectasy for the trip back. I have trained in the Baron twice with Tom Turner and completed his Baron school. I installed an new GMX 200 MFD, JPI 760, GTX 330 transponder w/ back up transponder, remote King DME, gamis, and fixed almost everything on the airplane that needs repair. I am into owner maintenance and do annuals in my own hangar w/ help from my IA friends who look over my shoulder, the money I save I invest in Snap On and Matco tools, makes jobs easy with the correct tools. We own a second plane Piper Archer w/ factory air, my wife flys it and she has almost completed her instrument training, not sure I want her in the Baron but she sure thinks so. My hangar is second home, 2 couches, refrigerator, portable a/c, gas heat for cold. My solace. Second hangar at M93, small camp there by runway and we waterski and ride waverunners there. Great resturant there also, stop in.
