Aero Commander 500B. The initial version was certified by flying with the Right Prop off and inside the cabin. Flew from Ada Ok, to Washington, DC.

Hmm! Okay: Helio Courier MD-500/OH-6 P-47 J-3 Skyhawk (the Douglas A-4 version) U-2 I think that should cover my SEL missions!

If I could only have one airplane, and it had to be a single, it would be a PC12. I do a lot of long distance flying with my family (1300nm or so) and a lot of stuff. The TBM is great, but not enough cargo space for my current use.
The PC12 is also comfortable on grass/dirt so it would actually manage a lot of my normal missions. Great all around airplane.
Now, if I could have multiple airplanes, but they had to be singles... Hmmm...
T28B or C. Just damn fun and easy to fly. T6 Super Decathalon Seabee (yeah, I happen to like them) 185 Corsair or Mustang... I hear the Corsair is a royal pain on the ground, but I do love their looks.

Extra has sold the 500 line to some Chinese Mfg that are deciding what to do with it. It's got EASA certification, so FAA certification should be a quick thing if they want the US market. It's not a very fast TP, but it has great range (1600nm) and the bulletproof RR250 engine. Probably the cheapest turbine to overhaul and run there is. A guy over at a European forum ones one he flies with and he's been very happy with it. Think only around 5 of them got sold before Extra sold the line. It hasn't been a success, but I think that's mainly due to the pricing. I'm rooting for the thing.

I'm rooting for the thing.

Specifically a Canadair Mk.6 with the bigger Orenda engine. (But for all intents and purposes an F-86.) Although I could be wrong, I think that first picture is an F-84 Thunderjet from the looks of that intake. And the SEL of choice for getting around would definitely be a PC-12. Because, let's face it, It does things most multi's and jets can't do with one big ass Pratt out front. And it's built like a tank.
