When the first 15s were entering service they were trying it against all sorts of adversaries. I heard of a conversation over the tactical freq between an F-4 pilot flying bogey profiles against a 15 that went something like this:
Controller: "Bogey 123 you've flown one head on intercept to engagement and two stern quarter engagements, what would you like to do next?"
F-4 pilot: "I'd like to call bingo and go home".

That's an AIM-120 AMRAAM. Thought that might be it due to its length but didn't want to embarrass myself by guessing wrong. Now for the $64 question, which son?
