Hi guys, I have searched and have not found what I am lookin for. I am going to start the process of restoring a early 1955 Cessna 310. It has panel issues, and time to upgrade (not to crazy). I am trying to keep the panel somewhat original looking. I do have a desire for an iPad panel mount! Well, if you have pics send them over. I am interested in seeing what's out there. It's going to be a fun project and look forward to the outcome!

I love old 310s. Used to own a 1961F model. Really fun to fly.

It has been a great resource. I have a full write-up on their forum of what I am doing to this old bird. I thought I would send it over to BT as well. Lots of guys here with major knowledge.

Here is the info from TTCF on June 1st.
Well with the new wife (2 weeks) on board to acquire yet another plane I flew the Bonanza down to see the 310 on Saturday. Its about a 1 hr flight. I brought a ton of tools and nic-naks to get the ferry process started. As I arrived, I meet the previous owner at the hangar (Barry). We strategized about what we wanted to accomplish and got to work.
Here are my main items needed to get this bird rolling out of the hanger so I can at least start the engines and taxi the aircraft to the fuel station.
1. Remove bad #5 cylinder on the left engine. Done!
2. Install new OH'ed cylinder assembly. Not Done! The engine shop was running behind and did not get the cylinder done in time for me to install!
3. Drain and replace oil in RH engine. Done! I did not replace the filter at this time. It was new in 2006 with zero hrs on it. I will replace after some ground running. Oil and filter will be new before flight.
4. Drain and replace oil in LH engine. Not Done! This will happen after the cylinder is installed.
5. Drain all fuel from the main tuna tanks. Done! Bladders look ok. Not great! I have looked in the logs and don't see that they were replaced. I see this in my future.
6. Flush entire brake system with new 5606. Done! For some reason the existing 5606 was not gummy at all. I was shocked. I drained the calipers as much as much as I could. I brought my pressure pot and forced 5606 from each caliper to the masters. This flushed out the old 5606 with the new in the pot. The brakes are holding great with no leaks for now. The disks have some surface rust which I will address when I put new tubes and tires on it. The lining are in new condition.
7. Add nitrogen to the struts. Done! 2 of the 3 struts were down/flat. We put the plane on jacks to get level, then added nitrogen to achieve the proper height. I will check this again with full fuel on board.
8. Check tires. Somewhat Done! All the tires appear to be newer. But, they have been sitting for a long time with about 5-10 psi each. I am guessing there will be flat spots. We will see when I pull her out of the hangar.
9. Panel, Panel, Panel!!! A long way to DONE! The panel is completely apart. No radios, audio panel, etc. Most gauges and instruments are new but not "installed". This will take some time. I was able to work on it for about 1 hr. I got all the engine monitoring gauges plugged in. The terminals were there, just had to plug in. To ferry I might just use a hand held for communication. There is also no transponder. Not sure what I am going to do here having to fly it to a class B area. Maybe fly a two ship flight on the way home.
10. Landing Gear! Not Done. When it comes to the gear I am a complete novice. I am a beechcraft guy. There is a 310 mechanic on the field that we will get to help us rig the system. I will try to do this on my next trip there.
That is the short list for now. I will be acquiring a lot of parts that the previous owner has to get this plane airworthy. That is all included in the deal. There will be a lot of items needed as well.
Thanks again guys for looking at this tread. I will try to keep it updated along the way.

Bob, somebody has to keep these old airplanes flying. It might as well be you I'll look forward to watching your progress. I have brought a couple of planes out of retirement, including the one I flew tonight. We'll look forward to more updates. Robert

The bulkhead in the nose where the strut attaches is a weak point in the early 310's you may want to check it out. They tended to crack.

Hi Guys, Yesterday was a big day for N2762C. I left home base at 5am in the Baron to have a early start on the day. Here is what we got accomplished. 1. I installed the new cylinder on the LH engine. 2. Flushed all fuel lines including the lines to the gauges. 3. Pre-oiled the engine. 4. Lubed all the landing gear components 5. Install a small amount of MMO to both fuel tanks and engine. We pulled her out of the hangar, add juice from the GPU and got her fired up. She started very easily. I ran her for about 6 mins with a short taxi around the hangars. The brakes still feel little mushy, main tires are a flat sided and the proper cycled as they should. It was a good day. Here is a video I quickly put together to show you have this all began. I will be back to the plane this weekend to start the cleaning process and possibly get the panel underway. Cheers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l61A-8KvmS0
