Speed, useful, load, parts? Which one one is better?

Those are vastly different aircraft. To get any real answers, you need to define your mission.

Big difference in missions between the two planes. If I'm looking for speed and efficiency I'd buy the Mooney. Money is a four seater and fast M20K.

If my need was to haul up to 5 pax I'd lean toward the 210 over the Mooney.

Just a private travel machine. Sometimes 800NM to Florida with 4 pax. I don't know whether a m20k has the load to carry 4 and bags.

No. 210 much better for 4 adults plus bags on a long trip.

It does not, unless you're talking four Kenyan marathon runners, each with a small 1lb duffle. ;)

If you need to fill all four seats and go 800 miles without stopping, rule out most, if not all Mooneys.

On the mooney at 10k what would the fuel flow look like to fly at 67-69 knots?
And on the 210 the same at about 85 knots. I don't have a poh for either.

Mooneys have a 200hp engine. 210's have a 285hp engine. Basically similar speeds between the two, 50% more fuel burn for the 210. It's about 50% bigger too.

Mooney insurance will be half (or less) of the 210 insurance cost.
Cheapest planes to insure in the universe.

(closet 231 fan).

Tell em why Thomas, tell em why......

Mooney's are efficient and damn cheap to maintain in my 8 years of ownership. Engine compartment is a little tight :D

But if it won't carry the load……half price insurance is 100% waste.

A good 210 is a good machine

But now that you are in a bigger machine an A36 is also in the race.

Well, I've had both. The Mooney was a little tight for four passengers and very little luggage.
Currently have a '78 T210. It has the 300hp TSIO-520R and is an awesome plane. I usually carry four adults, full fuel, and fill all the empty space with cargo when we go on trips.

Most M20Ks (231). Will have useful of 900 to 940 lbs depending on equipment. Flight plan for 155kts down low and 170kts 12k. Faster higher and oxy.
Leg room for 4 pax Plus 4 carry on sized bags. Not 4 clubs. Do the math on weights and range. Fuel burn from 12 to 14.5 gph depending on power and alt ROP.

Find one with the LB engine and intercooler. Or spring for a 252.
Great aircraft for a 900 useful turbocharged mission. If you don't fly much above 9k then buy a standard M20. Also join mapa and a shop that specializes in money's.

Never owned a 210 so no comment on that AC
