I had a sneaking suspicion that this post was about a Malibu. Agreed. The Malibu is an extremely efficient and wonderful aircraft with a fairly flexible mission profile. My only complaint is it's just missing those big ol' barn doors, but I guess I would trade the doors for pressurization The 550 just hums along LOP with cool CHT's to boot. Anthony, how do you like the GTN-750? I have a friend who has an all original panel in his '84 Malibu and is considering putting in a GTN750. If you wouldn't mind, could you share with me via PM time and costs for install of your upgrade? Rob

The Malibu and Mirage do things that no other piston single can do.

1340. I am blessed with a lightweight family who like to pack light. With 140 gallons I am 10lbs below gross with wife, two kids and bags. I could take out a seat and pick up another 18lbs I think.

A 400 hp diesel would be a game changer in this aircraft.

The high aspect ratio wing is the reason the Malibu does what it does. You can't clip its wings and have it be the same. Mike C.
