Early on, if I didn't fly in 2 weeks, I felt very rusty in the MU2. Now, if I don't fly for 3-4 weeks, I take a local training flight, usually do a few approaches. That knocks the rust off both man and machine pretty well.Mike C.

Agreed, I try to fly it at least every 2 weeks as well. If I go more than that, I am even more cautious and conservative on the next flight (for example if IMC conditions, I don't want to be flying right to minimums, etc.). I travel overseas A LOT so sometimes I will go 3 weeks without flying. If so, I do the same thing -- a local flight to knock the rust off and get some landings in....

Anyone else know that the MU-2 was originally advertised as a Mooney product?

Best,

Here's an advert for it:
Attachment:
IMAG0448.jpg

Particular plane shown is a 1967 MU-2B-10, "B" model, serial #7.

It was later reregistered as N307MA, crashed in 1980, 1 fatality, ran out of fuel at night and crashed near Henderson, NV. Pilot had unknown make/model hours, and no instrument rating (think about night time in Nevada). Also, known deficiencies in fuel system before departure.

Kind of makes the safety boasts in the ad seem ironic.
